February 2008 - Avenues Walk Project
AGES is currently performing full time construction materials testing and construction engineering inspection services for the above referenced project. The Avenues Walk project is being constructed on approximately 300 acres of land south and west of the Mall of the Avenues in southern Duval County. Included in this large project (which will have over 1 million cubic yards of embankment) are FDOT improvements to the intersection of Southside Boulevard and Phillips Highway, a structural steel flyover bridge over the FEC railroad, a new Wal-Mart Super Center store and additional commercial and retail space to be built in future phases. The project has some unique aspects to it, most notably de-watering, de-mucking and subsequent backfilling of several ponds which have fill depths in excess of 30 feet. |
January 2008 - Baptist Medical Center South Campus Tower D Project
AGES is currently performing construction materials testing, threshold inspection and Private Provider inspection services for the above referenced project. Baptist Medical Center plans to expand its south campus, located within the southeastern quadrant of the intersection of I-95 and Old St. Augustine Road in Jacksonville, Florida. The $65 million project will include an eight(8) story structural steel framed structure with a typical floor footprint of approximately 27,000 to 27,500 square feet. The proposed construction will generally consist of exterior and interior in fill concrete block masonry/pre-cast concrete walls with elevated cast in-place concrete slabs. There will also be a 6 story parking garage constructed adjacent to the main tower project.

January 2008 - Hilton Garden and Homewood Suites Project
AGES was recently awarded the construction materials testing and threshold inspection services on the highly publicized $25 million Hilton Garden and Homewood Suites Project located in Jacksonville, Florida. The project is being developed by San Marco Hotel Partners, LLC. AGES previously completed the very detailed geotechnical engineering analysis for the auger-cast pile foundation which included assisting in the performance of pile load tests in compression over 200 tons.

January 2008 - San Marco Place Condominium Project

The Haskell Company and Chase Properties selected AGES to perform construction materials testing, threshold inspection and Private Provider inspection services for the $45 million San Marco Place Condominium project which is located on the South Bank in Downtown Jacksonville. The upscale project consisted of a 22 story condominium tower using “tunnel form” construction, a 4-story parking garage and an adjoining 5 story office and retail building. AGES previously assisted in the very detailed geotechnical engineering analysis for the drilled shaft pile foundation which included witnessing and observing the performance of statnamic load tests in compression, monitoring of the drilled shaft deep foundation system and full time inspection of “stone column” foundations.

December 2007 - Downtown Parking Garage Project
AGES performed the construction materials testing and threshold inspection services on the previously completed Downtown Parking Garage project located in Jacksonville, Florida. The $7 million project was a 7-story parking garage which encompassed an entire city square block. AGES was responsible for the very detailed geotechnical engineering analysis for the drilled shaft pile foundation which included assisting in the performance of statnamic load tests in compression and monitoring of the drilled shaft deep foundation system. |
2007 - AGES HIRES NEW CONSTRUCTION SERVICES MANAGER
It is a pleasure to announce the hiring of Mr. Billy Swanson, P.E. as our new Construction Services Manager. Mr. Swanson’s primary duties will be to manage the daily performance of construction materials testing, threshold inspection and Private Provider inspection services as well as providing the client with client consultation, project administration, technical support, issue resolution and report preparation and review. Mr. Swanson is well experienced in performance and supervision of geotechnical explorations and/or construction services for a variety of foundation types including drilled shafts, pressure injected footings, auger cast piles, H-piles, precast concrete piles, pipe piles and timber piles. He is also experienced with the various aspects of site preparation under a variety of site conditions and is familiar with ground improvement techniques such as surcharging, wick drains, vibro-flotation and use of geo-synthetics. Mr. Swanson has also previously performed and supervised testing and inspection services on numerous projects in the North Florida area while employed at Universal Engineering Sciences for the last 6 years.

MAY 2007 - AGES WELCOMES NEW ENGINEER
AGES is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Nitan Paliwal, E.I. as a Project Engineer. Mr. Paliwal has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from AM University in India and a Master’s in Civil Engineering from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. Mr. Paliwal has 2 years of Structural Design experience in concrete, steel and masonry structures. Mr. Paliwal’s primary duties will be to assist in management and the daily performance of construction materials testing, threshold inspection and Private Provider inspection services as well as providing client consultation, project administration, technical support, issue resolution and report preparation and review. Mr. Paliwan has also previously performed and help to supervise testing and inspection services on numerous projects in the North Florida area since his arrival at AGES. One of Mr. Paliwal’s recent job assignments was the monitoring of the drilled shaft foundations for the Baptist Medical Center South Campus Tower D project. |

AGES is pleased to announce the hiring of John Thrush, Certified Building Inspector, to the AGES Construction Material Testing and Threshold Inspection Department. John comes to AGES with 33 years of construction and inspection experience. John's primary duties will consist of Performance of Private Provider Inspection Services and Threshold Inspection Services throughout Duval County on all current and future projects for AGES clients. John will be heavily involved in the development, management, and growth of an AGES Structural Building Inspector Department.

January 2006 - AGES Welcomes new Geotechnical Engineer.
AGES is pleased to announce the hiring of Ahmed Zein, Geotechnical Engineer. Mr. Zein has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Halwan in Egypt, and a Ph.D degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Zein focused his doctoral research on non-destructive evaluation of concrete structures and foundations using stress waves propagation techniques. Mr. Zein will be heavily involved in many current and future geotechnical projects all over the south Georgia, north Florida areas.

AGES has recently completed the geotechnical engineering and is now finishing the construction materials testing phase for the new Home Depot at the Shoppes at Amelia Concourse in Yulee, Florida. We will continue our services into 2006 completing the adjacent Target Store and adjoining parcels for Kimco Developers Inc.

September 22, 2005 - AGES ADDS A SKID STEER MULCHER
TO ITS DRILLING FLEET
AGES has added a custom Takeuchi TL 150 Skid Steer mounted Fecon Mulcher to
its drilling arsenal. The state of the art $110,000 site clearing machine will provide
site access to our drilling fleet on even the most difficult sites. The machine clears
a 7 foot wide path, and can turn trees, vines, palmettoes and stumps into mulch in a
matter of seconds. The rubber track equipment can traverse any terrain. This
equipment will improve drill rig productivity, by minimizing hand clearing, which
means quicker turn around times for our clients. We also will provide specialty subcontract
site clearing support to surveyors, contractors, directional drillers, and others

February 15, 2005 - AGES adds a fourth drill

new state of the art Simco 2400SK-1 is mounted on a
3800 tandem trailer and is capable of drilling on low
headroom areas, inside of buildings, and other hard
to get places. The rig is capable of performing
penetration test borings, pushing cones and dilatometers,
and is set up to installshallow monitoring wells. |

Atlantic Geotechnical & Environmental Services, Inc. (AGES) is pleased to announce that Jeffrey S. Foster, P.G. has joined our staff as the Environmental Services Manager. Jeff has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida and has been providing geological and engineering related services since 1983. He will manage and expand our environmental services group capabilities and brings over 16-years of experience in the environmental industry to AGES.
Mr. Foster is a registered Professional Geologist in Florida and Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania with project manager experience on the assessment and remediation of over 250 petroleum and hazardous waste sites. He has been the lead geologist for 16 RCRA Facility Investigations and 4 CERCLA sites in the United States and has extensive experience in field testing, monitoring, well design, geological and hydro-geological investigations, and contaminant transport mechanisms, remedial alternatives and implementation. Mr. Foster has over ten years experience in conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments as part of the environmental due diligence for environmental conditions associated with properties involved in sales.

The project is being developed by WCI Communities, Inc., a very well known developer of up scale, luxurious, condominium projects along the eastern coast of the United States. Nassau County recently awarded a 4 year
contract to Jacksonville based Atlantic Geotechnical and Environmental
Services. Under the contract, AGES will provide Geotechnical

Services, A Jacksonville Based Engineering firm announced
the addition of Olie Sayre to its ranks. Sayre is a 25 year

This month, St. Johns County reviewed
proposals from over a dozen local and national engineering

This month, Atlantic Geotechnical and Environmental Services
began operating from its new corporate offices in Jacksonville's
Southside at 9556 Historic Kings Road South. An open house
was held to give clients a tour of the new 4500 square foot
facility and its extensive in-house materials and soil testing
labs. According to President Bill McMahan, this advanced facility
shall serve as the companies prototype for all future offices.
